I have replaced lower ball joints not too long ago. I just replaced upper arms, tie rods (inner and outer), and shocks and springs, but the front end still feels loose and clunks when going over small bumps. It sounded similar to worn out sway bar links (which I experienced before and fixed), so I pulled off the sway bar and links to rule those out, and it still does that.
The car has 127k miles on it. The noise sounds halfway between a metal on metal and knocking on wood. The car has been making this noise (not as loud though) before I replaced the shocks and front end parts. What I didn't replace are the top hat bushings (which looked fine 4k miles ago, and I don't feel any play in them now), and the radius rod bushings. Is there anything else that could be causing looseness and clunking?
