Default Question about passing emissions.

I have a quick question about passing emissions.

Ok I have a 97 civic hx the original owners converted it from auto to manual transmission. I've never been able to pass emissions because it's throwing some transmission code because the ecu is for a automatic car and the car is now manual trans. Anyway now the motor in my car is not even an hx motor. It's a dx I believe.

My question is to pass emissions would I need ecu for a manual hx, or could I get one for a manual dx to pass emissions since the new motor is a dx. I'm unsure because I'm thinkig the wiring is setup up for an hx model. I dunno I'm not a mechanic. Anyway just trying to get this piece to pass. Any help would be appreciated.
