So i am planning on switching out the automatic transmission on my 1998 Accord V6 with 150,000. Which type of auto transmission would i need to buy to swap the old one with. I want one that is not the same as the ones from the 98-01 years because i have heard that they all go bad. Is there another type of transmission like one from an acura or something that i can swap out without any problems??

 

You can swap to a 5 speed auto.

Use one from a Honda Odyssey or Pilot. Those model vehicles are going to get the least amount of abuse compared to a CL/TL. Soccer moms don't launch or abuse their vans hard like some guy in a CL/TL would...

"You can put in a 7th gen AV6 5spd AT, 03-05 Oddy, 2nd gen TL/CL TL-S/CL-S ATs, you would have to replace your ECU and harness with ones from a 01-03 TL/CL TL-S/CL-S AT, add in the knock sensor and wire for the chassis A ECU connection."
