depends on whether the ecu looks for an eld or not, and whether or not the car was wired with one to begin with.

heres the deal.i pulled out the ecu when i had the car running and it stumbled on the idle and allmost died.i tracked it down to the c plug.if i wiggle it it idles shitty and allmost dies.i check the wires and there fine.i think its the pins on the ecu socket or board.i found a guy tonight who has a 90 si crx or pm6 ecu that i will try.

my ecu is a pm6.

whats an eld?

You may not have an ELD in your fuse box, and the new computer doesn't know that. It doesn't effect your engine with this code. I've run it in a ZC for over a year and a half. No performance losses. Doesn't go into limp mode at all. RUN it with the code, or get an ELD for your fuse box. Later, Overkll

The ELD is part of the fuse box and is standard in the 89-91 CRX Si.

Basically an ELD turns on and off the alternator so it is not charging when it does not need to. It detects engine load and the ecu decides how much juice the car needs before it lets the car draw current from the alternator. I drove around with a faulty one for over a year. It doesn't hurt anything.
