not a bad start, the previous owner must have been crazy about 6th gen parts for civics with the d16y7, intake, upper strut bar haha

If i were you i would just drive it the way it is and go straight to the LS, no sense in having all kinds of money tied up building a turbo SOHC only to go DOHC later.

if your gonna go boost then get the ls since it has more torque. If you want a DD then stick with your sohc or get a nice b16

I agree with these guys, if your set on the DOHC and Boost, I'd just keep the SOHC in there as it is now and save up for the LS swap and piece your Turbo kit together.

What suspension do you have now? Brakes? Security System?

There is no point in having a big engine if you cannot stop it, there is also no point if you do not have a good suspension. When I got my car, the first things that I did was drop the car and put bigger brakes. Alarm is a MUST, especially since your going to be INVESTING all sorts of money into this car. Couple killswitches, sterring wheel lock, siren inside and outside of car with a back-up battery, clutch lock...anything to protect the car.

Couple bucks invested for security BEATS $ invested into car.

If you have everything that I just mentioned then good, engine is next. lol.

LS Swap if you're planning on turbo.

How have you managed to blow 2 trannys already? My original one is still going with over 200K on it.

grats on coming into the DOHC world. The new Ksport Kontrols are good from what i hear, the old ones were having leak issues after a year, their new design has next to no complaints and is running for 699 shipped.

Ill have to agree with dailydriver92 about the brakes and suspension. Before you go dropping G's into your turbo build, get a good suspension and brake setup going. Id say security as well--but i have yet to do that myself :S

Keep the thread going. Pictures of the swap when completed. Andddd take it easy on those transmissions guy.

Also-- you mentioned you wanted slotted rotors, From what im told it doesnt make that much of a difference if you're just going to DD the car. The purpose of slotted rotors and drilled rotors is to dissapate the gas taht is created under hard braking, which now is hardly existant. Under normal driving conditions you wont be needing slotted or drilled rotors--but if you want some bling thats on you

Save your money and get some Brembo Blanks. They're going for about 60 shipped i think, for the rears. And i think about 60 for the fronts as well. There is a seller rolling around in the marketplace.
