Default d16a6 idle issue

I have a 91 civic hatch that has a d16a6 in it. It just started acting up a couple days ago. It is revving way past idle like it doesn't want to come back down. At first I could just rev it up and then it would go back down. Now it just wants to keep going even though my foot is off the pedal. I'm afraid it's going to blow if i don't stop it. Any help on what is causing this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who can help.
