H22a in ej1 vtec not hitting hard anymore
I just purchased a new P28 chipped and tuned/With socket ecu from phearable.net and I tuned vtec to hit at 4,500 rpm. It sometimes kick on when the car is warmed up, but it seems to be not as hard, like when I first got the car. Car runs perfect, and it purrs when idling. No check engine light. A friend told me it may be that I need a new vtec solonoid or vtec solonoid switch. He also told me that I might need a new oil pump and oil pan because my oil pan may be dented, and won't give enough oil for vtec to hit. Anyone else have this problem? I want to save money, and I don't want to switch parts, and find out nothing was wrong with my oil pump or oil pan or vtec solonoid. Can someone please help me out?
It could be the diffrence in the rpm of vtec engadgement. On a correctly tuned vtec engine the crossover should be smooth. You should not feel a jump in power when it is engaged. Honda makes it engage without a smoth crossover from the factory so people will feel like they have more power and buy them.
Ok, so you think it's fine, it's just normal that way? It seems to me that it lost a little power though? Well, thanx alot.
lol...i remember when i first turboed my car..it felt hella fast...after a month it felt slow...so i upped the boost and unfortunately i blew it..lol..but naw..get it tuned..a chip from another setup is meant for that setup..not yours..every setup is different...
cars dont feel as fast as you get used to driving them. i remember the night i got my b16 in and vtec wired, i rode out a half tank of gas...the last time i drove it it felt quick, but not as fast as it did on day 1.
