i have a 91 crx si, metal on top of sunroof is rusting out, roof itself is fine, wondering if i can just remove the metal on top of the glass and let it roll like that without getting wet in the rain etc? if not i will be replacing with lexan! just need to know before i go tearing stuff up.

 

the sunroof seal is just below the outer metal panel - without it, you will get wet

 

looking like lexan is in my future, a very tinted piece of lexan at that

 

Metal on top of glass??? I bought a CF functional sunroof panel a couple years back.
