I just bought a super clean and great running 99 Coupe V6, but am reconsidering my purchase due to all of my research done on the auto trans problems. Just wondering if any of you have success stories and have higher mileage Accords with no trans problems. Also how many miles do you have on yours? Or do every single Accord in these years have problems? Mine was driven gently and always serviced by the dealer and has 126k now. Thanks in advance!

 

Good luck is all I have to say. I have not heard a single good story yet. I knew a guy who his had not slipped yet. Not a single time. Then he said over the weekend, one single day ti started to slip and the next day it would not even drive.

So make sure you keep it serviced, or maybe start looking for manual swap components.

 

Can you put a manual transmission in a '99 V6? The '99 V6 wasn't offered with manual, automatic only.

 

you can. it is from the CL type S I believe. 6 speed. It has been done a few times. I do not know a whole lot about it. My friend I mentioned above whose trans went out was asking em to help him look for parts from it.

 

lol once you buy a car it's yours.... call HOA and ask them if any warranty work has been done on the trans. they should know and tell you if it was replaced.

 

No, it has never had any trans warranty work done on it. They said if it has not had issues by now it probably will not. are they lying to me?
