Default How to connect universal o2 sensor??

Does anyone know how to do this? I replaced my O2 sensor on 99' Accord, I followed directions on the diagram that universal O2 came in, and my engine light went off! I have 2 whites, a green and a black. The diagram for my colors on OEM O2 sensor gave me a specific diagram on how to connect a universal O2 sensor but colors on universal sensor i got does not have the same colors as the diagram. So i followed a diagram that had the same colors as my new O2 sensor but not same colors as my OEM sensor. What to do???

If the check engine light is off, you may have already connected the wires right.

Based on the wire colors listed, I would say the 2 whites are heater, green is Signal (-) and black is Signal (+).

For almost all 4 wire 02 sensors. You will have 2 heater wires, which are both the same color, and then a positive and negative wire. So just strip the wires, like you already were going to for soldering and shrink wrap and just connect them all by twisting them together just to test it, and like stated above, if it is not correct, it will throw the code for a faulty 02 sensor circuit. If not. Should be good to go. Having said that, I would have gone with an OEM one or a OE replacement so that you have the correct plug and no headache when it comes to this stuff.
