Question about hoods and ITR
Hey guys,
So i've done some searching and found that most of you with an ITR swap with hasport mounts went with the SiR hood for clearance of the valve cover. It was either that or cut out the webbing underneath and shim the hood.
My questions are....
1) What part are you shimming for the hood? I assume you're just putting 1/2" washers or spacers for the four screws (two on each side) that bolt into your hood? Or do you just put the washers under the back two screws?
2) I have the OEM CF hood on my CRX. I cut out the webbing just above the valve cover. It'll rub every now and then and what i'm finding is that the heat from the engine/valve cover because it's so close it may be screwing with the carbon fiber. Anyone know how to resolve this? Stuff something under the hood that won't catch fire? Something? anything?
Any possible information would be helpful.

I don't personally have a shimmed hood, but i'm pretty sure what they do it on all four bolts.

ah forget that silver stuff.. what you need is GOOOOLLLDDDDD http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pro...p?Product=1838
they will both work equally well for what you are doing.. I personally prefer the nasa nerd look though..

my itr swap with hassport mounts ruined a brand new valve cover. i cut the web off in the area of the rub and it still rubs. what most people do is use the bushing insert commonly found at the junk yards. the ones used on stock intake boxes. then you just have to get a bolt long enough to go thru the sleeve and them sum. i can post a pic if needed. not a big fan of the jdm hood prop look but it solves the problem. lmk what you all think
get some fire tape and put it on the underside for your hood. wont look the best but will save your cf. shimming is a good idea will help keep the engine bay cooler.
