Default p0171 bank 1 too lean

I have a 1996 accord l4 vtec. it has 180,000 miles on it. Recently i got a p0171. After searching i found some people recommending to replace to o2 sensor.

I was wondering if anyone has done this and had luck with it because from my experience there is usually a o2 sensor out of range or something like that when the o2 is bad. I have ran injector cleaner but havent changed the fuel filter out with i will do today. any suggestion would be great.

lien condition is attributed to air fuel mixture, therfore yes it could be a faulty 02 but i didnt see that you mentioned a code for the sensor. a lean condition usually means not enough air which could translate to either a vacuum leak, or possibly a egr system failure somewhere.

any resolution to this? I've got the same problem. O2 sensor didn't fix it.

I just got this code after changing the VTEC oil pressure sensor, although not related I found that I had knocked off the the device( sorry I do not know what it was) that was plugged into the air intake tube. Plugged it in and everything is fine now.
