Default Y8 into 88 DX questions

Hey guys I have a few noob questions. I am doing my first engine swap, putting a 96 D16Y8 into an 88 DX wagon.

I am staying DPFI, so I am reusing distributor, intake manifold etc...

1) I am stuck with what alternator to use, Y8 alternator plugs don't fit the DX harness, and the DX alternator doesnt work with the the Y8 crank pulley. I would love to avoid having to reuse the DX crank pulley, I don't want to have to take off the DX crank pulley bolt. Is switching the pulleys on the alternators an option?

2) The radiator fan switch. On the DX motor it's on the back of the block, on the Y8 its on the back of the t-stat AND is a different style plug. Is there an easy fix to this? Do I have to use a Y8 harness? (Which I would have to buy)

If I am not explaining my questions well I can post pics.

cant you just swap harness alternator plugs?? maybe diff drive belt?

for the fan switch youll need the harness plug that fits the switch with some wire to attatch the 2 wires from the stock harness

Thanks for the advice, it looks like I need a new harness to fix both problems.

How similar are obd-1 and obd-2 harnesses? Do I have to use a 96-00 civic harness?

Yeah I need to head to the junkyard for the plugs.

I will work on MPFI later, this is just some reliable transportation for now.
