AC not working
i updated with new info here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/showpo...86&postcount=5
My AC completely stopped working. My car wasn't driven from Dec 18 to Jan 7th. Since then, I have driven only maybe 200 miles. I didn't attempt to use the AC during that time at all, but it got hot in So. Cal. today and I tried to use my AC and all that I got was hot air when I had it set on recirculated air. My climate control still works. The fan blows at different power levels.
So, at this point, I don't know if I have a leak somewhere or if I simply ran out of Freon. I am thinking that it's most likely a leak since I rarely use my AC and I have only driven it 35,000 miles. I generally roll my windows down instead unless someone else is in the car with me. Is there some way for me to test it myself to see if it's leaking? To get it refilled, how much does it generally cost?
If my car is still under powertrain warranty, will they cover something like this or will I have to pay for the service to be done.
Should I pick up something like this: http://www.jcwhitney.com/ARCTIC_FREE...;0;2011346;0;0 or are there cheaper options
Edit: I read a DIY guide on refilling my own AC fluid. Has anyone used the previous system?

It's usually pretty expensive if you get it done somewhere. I have heard that the freon refill kits work pretty well and they shouldn't be too hard to do. I rarely use my AC lol so I have never really needed to service an AC system.
take it to the Stealer and ask them to check it out, or call beforehand, but if that doesn't work...,
if your AC sounds like it's working, but just hot air? I would say freon refill. how old is your car? when I was in AZ, for cars older than 4 to 5 years, my buddy's shop used to get lot of customers with similar problem and the refill did the trick. just make sure you go to ones you trust, cuz, haha..., my buddy used to charge full refill price and not really refill it fully... and that's how he prolly bought his first house, LOL... Now, if you don't hear any AC sound, that might be more than freon issue. if worst, just drive without it and don't give anyone ride, I had to drive old *** legend for few months in AZ summer w/o AC. With window up = hot dry sauna; window down = full force hair dryer in your face, feel the burn... lol... GL!

To the thread poster: If it is just the refrigerant missing, you have to consider how it leaked out so fast. I mean, it went from working great to not at all in a short time. Typically it works to refill it if the leak is real slow because it will take a year or so to leak out again, so no biggie. However, you might want to have the shop check where it is leaking from before the refill it and fix the leak. Often times seals/o-rings etc dry out with age and leak.
The car was refilled to the correct PSI with r134a, but I have been hearing hissing noises now and it's no longer as cold as it was right after it was refilled. It was refilled about 2.5 weeks ago. I have driven less than 500 miles since then. It does get slightly cooler after about 5-10 minutes of driving, but it's still not cold.
i would get it leak/dye tested, and refrigerant id' to check for contamination. also is the compressor kicking in? check the condenser for debris/damage and also feel the lines going to the evaporator they should both feel cold. if one is hot the evaporator could be clogged. sucks gl man no a/c in socal's gotta suck!

The low pressure port where the blue cap is at wasn't hot or cold when the car was on for ~30 minutes and the ac was on full blast. I turned off the car and let it sit for ~20 minutes and i went to touch the low pressure port hose and it was really hot.
I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to check to see if my compressor is working or not.
