2004 Honda Accord Headlights Dim While Driving??
I've got a 2004 Honda Accord Ex 6 banger. While driving with the headlights they will dim and then go to normal. I've had it at the dealer they've checked alternator and did a test on the battery. They advised getting a new battery. I bought a brand new one and the problem continues. I again had the alternator checked at a different shop and it checked out okay. The guy at the shop suggested maybe there is a grounded wire. I checked and could not find anything. Would the size of the battery have anything to do with it?(ie cold cranking amps) Anyone else having a similar problem? If so let me know what you did. Thanks
It's very likely that its a faulty ELD. You'll need to replace the underhood fuse box as the ELD is non-serviceable and is contained within the fuse box.
Thanks for the information, I'm just curious why the Honda dealer wouldn't pick up on that. 90Sedan did you have this problem with one of your cars? Is this an expensive part? I would hate to replace it and it not be the problem.
I'm not sure why the dealer missed it either. But there is a TSb for it. I work for a dealer and have replaced a couple of them on customer cars.
I don't know the cost of the fuse box, but i would try an online honda parts dealer, it will be much cheaper than buying it in-person from a dealer.

If anyone else is having this problem the ELD can be replaced without replacing the whole fuse box.
