Bought it for $1500 off craigslist. 210k, D16z6.

I'm starting with the basics, cleaning it up.

Then moving on to repairs, new axles, brakes, struts/springs, lca..etc

Then the good stuff. Rims, s2000 seats, carpet, sound system, paint, will hopefully supercharge it down the line.

Ths will be a somewhat slow build. As I will be doing everything, and will buy items as funds allow.

Exterior. Dirty, and needs paint.

Anyways this is the progress of the engine cleaning phase.

So I started with the most obvious thing. The VC.



THis stuff worked great, got from o'reilleys or schucks for $5.



Came off in less than 5min.



Before paint.



Few coats later.



Decided to paint the radiator stay, since pw jdm ones cost $30



After.



And, yes i spray painted the battery black. The idiot before me paint it baby blue.

Thanks man. It was hilarious my sis was driving the sol around today, wasn't used to a worn clutch and started burning out when a light turned green. But ya, i'm looking forward to it. Bought a BUNCH of stuff today, can't wait for it to all get here. Just gotta find some hx rims now.

Decided to do a twist of the $50 paint job. Instead of a roller, i'm gonna rock a wagner household paint sprayer lol. Hope it works, if not lowes has a nice return policy. Gonna stick w/ gloss black for a while.

my friend did that paint job and he had orange peal out the ***... i would buff it and leave it for the time being.

Just bought Honda VX rims, yes the same as HX rims but 13" instead of 14" and they are only like 8-9 lbs. I got a steal $160 for all 4, with brand new tires.. Installing tomorrow when there's light.

i'm gonna do the trunk to start out, if it turns out like crap, i'll just use a roller.

 

Wow. Now the wheel gap is huge!! I'll be able to drop them atleast 3" now with the vx rims.

Oh snap! That looks funky haha, I saw a black Del Sol on craigslist with white hx or vx wheels and it ended up looking ok being much lower. I'm interested to see how the "house sprayer" turns out.

 

Yeah the bronze was looking retarded. Decided to paint em white. MUCH better. Look like mini type-r's. Cant wait to get my suspension in the mail..

Received my 10k hids, upper front strut bar, and KYB struts today. Just waiting on those coilovers so I can slam it..

Paint will probably start tomorrow, or the next day. Suppose to be nice for the next 2 days so i'll try to take advantage of that. Here's more night HID pics... I'm happy with them. Very bright, yet blue at the same time.
