In all the pics I've seen, the 99-00 CTR tail lights look just like the tails on my 99 DX hatch; red & clear. But, I've noticed that they always sell for considerably more money than their USDM counterparts. Is this just due to JDM hype, or are there actual differences, however subtle, among the two?

Hi, the difference is that there is no rear foglight in the JDM version and the lower part of the lamp which is the foglight in the usdm version. Is on when you turn on your lights...

Here are my 2000 JDM EK9 tail lights. The USDM has a reflector on the bottom left/right, as for the JDM ones don't. Also, the USDM has 5 sockets for lights and the JDM ones only have 4 sockets for lights.

It sounds like you're in Europe. USDM Civic taillights do NOT have a rear foglight built into them. European taillights are different from USDM taillights in that the driver taillight in Europe has a rear foglight (USDM do not) and the USDM ones have no corner reflectors.

 

ok so if you put the parking lights on they light up on top and bottom
but if you press the brakes just top tops go bright.. these are from my 00 taillights..
im not sure if the ek9 ones light up on the bottem when you press the brake.. i dont think they would since the wireing is all the same
