what are you planning on doing with the car? race? street? how low you want to go? Lots of different suspensions out there. I have ran about 6 different systems and have had very good luck.

well i plan on mainy driving the car on streets. not sure ill put in on track. more a daily driver. but every car i have had since 17, ive lowered. back in the day eibach springs did the trick. 300 and car had a new stance. then i went and got a set of coilovers for a vw i had back in the day. coils, sway bars, strut bars, all the goods. i really like when you can hit a corner and hit it hard, and the car holds the road.
i live in jersey and roads suck, but it is what it is. gotta live here and wanna ride low.
i saw a couple coilover set ups, dont remember names now, but they only lower car 1.5 1.75. think thats a bit week for coilovers. springs can do that.
i like em low and drivable. but also like that with coils, if you change wheels you can change stance. was a bit of a wheel ***** in my day.
i want something made well. no junk. dont want 200 coils like my brother in law has. i want real deal adjustable. solid components for my suspension.
gotta learn more about how the honda guys do it. what parts i should mate with the coils, etc.
dont wanna spend 1k on coils. if theres good stuff out there for less....
then again, dont wanna spend 6 and regret it later.
thats why i was looking for opinions on the subject
thanks for any help.

I know function forms are good. My friend has type 1s on his daily, it's a pretty smooth ride and pretty decent handling too. Haven't had any experience with k sports though.

Use the Stock LCAs if your bushings are in good shape. Look into getting some Progress coilovers. They are around 550. Avoid D2, ksport, FF, BWR and all of that other Taiwan crap. The quality is just not there.

Progress is running a promo, do a search on here and you'll find it

Just look around, HT has ALOT of suspension hook ups

Yes, the progress coils are good for $560. They are the best budget coilover you can get, better than D2, Ksport, F2, and all the other ebay budget stuff. If you are just going to be driving on the street than most of those are fine as long as you dont mess with the preload and lower them more than they should be. AKA no preload and lower mount screwed all the way in b/c then there is no shock travel and then you blow them, which is what most people do. They are cheap for a reason, 99% of those taiwan coils have uneven dampening rates, with progress I am sure they have less than 10% difference in rebound and dampening between all the struts. If you are willing to spend some money which is sounds like you can spend about $1,000, the best set up you can buy for the price is GC/Koni with 4 extended top hats. Lifetime warrenty on all the parts and they can be had for just over $1000. Contact THmotorsport about there Koni/GC deal. Actually Import RP has the struts and coils cheaper but I havent seen any good or bad reviews for the vendor. THmotorsports its proven to get you your parts and has great customer service.

koni/ground control kits, from what i believe, is a koni shock and ground control spring set. Theyr not a full-coilover set, more of a built set. I want to try them one day

The best way to go is Koni sports with a gc kit or just buy the konis and get the sleeves with them from koni, then buy hyperco springs off ebay. they are great springs and cheap.

ordered the whole coilover, including extended tophats from ground control.

I went with the softest spring combo offered at 340lb/in front and 250 rear.

The car is a DD with some auto x and occasional HPDE's thrown in.

I figured if bodyroll was still excessive that I still need to do swaybars front and rear and will control sway with those.

thoughts?

thx for the help

1200 for that kit?
and it being a koni shock. with gc coil kit??
seems alot for a kit that is put together and not a built coilover. figured for 1200 it would be a one company coil. not a combo.
you guys run b&g coilovers??
i know they are said to be a great coilover.
dont know fellas. i dont wanna spend 6-700 on junk/or if not junk, dont wanna spend the money on coils that i will have to replace later.
i aint a rich man. family man. father of 2 with neverending bills. so i cant do the young man, put all my money in my car thing....
id like to do it once.

now as for comment made earlier. i will be daily driving. no 1/4 mile. dont know enuff to build a car to race....
would like to auto cross some day. not sure if they are doing it at track near me.
but realisticly, car will be d.d..
i will like to have the car low. not sure what preload means... i know i want to be able to lower car to a nice height. cant see buying coils to have a stock ride. nor can i see buying coils to ride at a height that springs alone will give you...
trying to look around and get info..
just alot of coilovers, and alot of different opinions. some say good, some say junk, how do you know what to listen to

Its not "put together". Sure its not all made at he same company but it will last you longer than you will own the car. Many people are running around slammed on this set-up for three, four, even five years. And even after that amount of time they will still warranty them if they fail.

well i guess the koni/gc is what ive been seeing here and there. im guessing thats a better set up. i thought i saw that combo for 8-900. might be wrong. guess ill keep looking for info. fix the other things that need fixing on the car and then hopefully pic the right set up.

to guy who told me to search, i did or have been attempting to. some guys post what they are running and some just post pics of cars.

really rather not buy junk. but seems i have a trans/clutch issues. i was hoping trans/clutch was good and i could spend money on suspension. but cant see throwing 1k on suspension and then leave the nice low car in the driveway.

and i thought that if i go with function form, id have coilovers that i want. and since i dont plan on autocrossing that maybe they will hold up.

dont know. mixed reviews on everybrand/ company.

some say x brand comp is great, then a different site/tread has x brand comp as being the worst thing out there

so im the confused noob who bought a car that i thought was good to go. and now im finding and fixing, without geting to enjoy my new car.
