ED7 shuts off after a minute of Idle help wanted
As Title states I have a 89 honda civic si hatchback and pretty much the car idles fine and does not smoke. The thing is that After about a minute or two of idle the car shuts off on it's own. When I bought the car it was not running. I did notice that the previous owner messed up the wiring for the fuel pump and altenator. I have replaced the fuel pump. I have fixed the wiring by soldering it. I even have a extra computer and replaced. I replace the hole entire intake system to include injector with a know working set up. I need to get this car out of my yard any help greatly appreciated. Rock on.....noidg101
If it dies after a couple minutes (once it starts to warm up) seems to me that it would be related to the fast idle function - FITV?? Man i'm sorry it's been so long since I worked on my civic, i forgot the terminology.
But basically the car gives itself more air &/or fuel at startup to keep it alive & warm it up. Once it settles in, it backs off... that's where your problems start. Sorry bro not much in the way of technical help but maybe it's something to search on...
