Default tranny swap ?

I have a d15 in my car that i blew, i purchase a new motor and the guy gave me the tranny just to get it out if his garage. it was a mini me with a d15 block from a 93 but its a hydro tranny. My question is, gearing wise, are they the same, different? if they are different (besides the cable/hydro issue) how so? i am trying to decide whether or not do one of the cable to hydro conversions. and assuming i have the parts to make it a true hydro, how difficult would that be to do?

you'd have to figure out whether the newer tranny is an ex/si or not. if its like a dx with the same gearing as what you already have then i wouldn't even bother putting it in. if you decide to use it there are conversions that bolt to the trans and allow you to use your stock clutch cable
