probably so. It became more of a problem from factory seats to S2K seats. Honestly unless I had kids and had to take them in that vehicle I wouldnt care. If someone wants to squeeze between a seat to sit back there go ahead. If they complain tell them dont go. Its your car, tailor it to your needs, wants, and comfort.

if you enjoy the simple comforts then get reclineable. i have non-reclineable buddyclub seats in my coupe but i don't have back seats or a/c or p/s or the sunroof or any other normal comfort that it really came with.

It'll be a pain in the *** to get in the back seat, unless you have really small/skinny people riding in the back. You'll have to move the seat all the way forward every time and then readjust it....or just make everyone get in on the other side.

nonreclinable seats are very comfortable...but they offer no adjustment. You're stuck. Reclinable seats are nice because you can move around if you want.

if you dont care about having the driver and passenger seat slightly different,

get reclinable for the passenger, non-reclinable for the driver,

90% of all rear passsengers enter and exit thru the passenger side,

and the driver is the most important seat and IMO bucket seats 'grip' the driver more

wow, did any of yall not listen to what i said?

it's okay, you won't be able to post after you roll your car without a cage because a. you'll have a broke neck, or b. you'll be paralyzed

what the hell are you talking about? Are you alluding to harnesses? The OP never mentioned anything about using harnesses. It seems like he still wants to use stock belts, he's talking about putting people in the back seat after all.

With stock seabelts, good aftermarket seats (i.e. ones that are properly crash tested like Recaro) are just as safe was OEM seats. Why wouldn't they be? In fact, Recaro themselves put reclinables (CTR, ITR, VW's, Cadillac, etc) and fixed buckets (NSX-R, Porsche, etc) in brand new cars from the factory that don't come with roll cages. What does that tell you?

ive had both i dont think its any less hard to get in and out of either. but with bride the recliners are out of most peoples price ranges, **** even the non reclining ones are. but i have a stradia right now from my old car, its awesome. it reclines but the real deal is the slightly lower bolsters which makes the real difference in getting in/out for a street car. if money isnt an object that is the seat to have imo.
i had the vios sport a couple cars ago and that is a good decent priced bucket, but your over like 160lbs your not getting in or out of it comfortably hahaha. the recliners tend to have more room in addition to everything else.

for rear seat access and stock belts i would say you want a reclining seat though.

I got the sparco evo 2 seat and i love it! and the great thing is if you do track your car its FIA and lasts 5 years for SCCA rules. I dont know about your seat your looking at, but there not at all uncomfortable.. Also check into a low seat rail too

I didn't rag on reclineable seats, any reputable brand will be fine.. like ones that are crash tested like you said.

what i was saying was running a non reclineable seat and/or harness without a cage was dumb

because reclineable seats are meant to break flat so when on a roll over you wont get squished. thats y there not good with cages, because they support the whole frame structure of the vehicle

you might be okay if the car flips or if you hit someone head on with a harness.. you have a chance of submarining. and you won't be able to move side to side if or when your roof crushes in

because you still have motion in your seat with your seatbelt, you can move side to side, where as a harness strapping you down you can only move your head side to side.

understand yet?

uhm...your car is made that if you roll it should hold ITSELF up. if not why wouldn't they put a cage in from start? exactly why the frames there. and if you get to the point where your chair NEEDS to breakaway like a reclinable would your probably dead.

there is not much side to side for either one.

whichever you want.
as for sittin on pile of rocks my friends reclinables are like sitting in a plastic bucket and sucks.

This seems to be a question of not only seats but future upgrade path and harness application.

Do you have a picture of the seats your thinking of.
