Default radio question.

1993 honda civic hatch
kenwood radio
using wire harness merta radio kit
everything wired up correct

but im not getting CONSTANT Power.... (from the yellow wire)

i can connect the constant to the acc and it will turn on but then it wont keep its memory.

(WHAT CAN I CONNECT THE YELLOW WIRE TOO TO KEEP A CONSTANT POWER CHARGE)

You can't use the sub outputs because they are a low frequency output. As for the remote wire, no the headunit does not need it to turn on. It's function is to turn on an amp, nothing to do with the factory radio.

How are your fuses? Do you have a constant 12 volts on the decks yellow wire? Switched 12V on the red? Good ground?

That ground should be good then if your stock radio was working before you took it out. It does'nt hurt to check though.

all the wires should be color coded, did you use a radio harness? or did you cut your stock harness?

are you getting power at all? important wires are red, yellow(orange), black.

Or just use a test light, much easier.

You're right, so just use a test light. If it does'nt light up then you don't have power. So either a bad fuse or an open wire.

the yellow wire is the ACC wire that tells the radio to come on if you connect it to the red wire that is getting constant 12v and it doesn't come on then it is a bad radio

No it's not. The yellow wire should be 12V constant, and the red should be 12V switched. Thats why the yellow wire is a heavier gauge.

That says that the radio is good, but you're not getting power from the OEM harness. Have you checked for 12V constant power on the yellow wire, or for 12V switched on the red wire yet? That will tell you where the problem is.

theres 3 wires u run off of every radio to get power a red one a yellow and a blk .
blk to negative , twist the red and yellow together
now stock harness theyres black yellow and red
take the yellow and red that u twisted together and twist it to the red wire on your harness from the car

unless its gm then its orange i think for power
