I have a 2003 Acura TL and in the 6 years I have had it, I have had to replace the transmission twice. The first time, the transmission went out on the car at 106,000 miles. Because it was 6,000 over warranty Acura did not want to replace it but the dealership convinved them to do it because I did all my service there and was a good customer, so they replaced the transmission at no cost to me but it had no warranty.

Just the other day, I was driving along and my car starting doing the same thing as 1 1/2 yrs ago...I took it into the dealership and it was the transmission again. I was livid this happened with only 39,000 miles and 1 1/2 yrs later. Acura told me that it has been having problems with the 2003 TL. So I was forced to either fix it or buy another car which I wasn't prepared or wanted to do. Acura claimed that because I was a good customer (please) and it had just been 1 1/2 yrs since it replaced the transmission, they would pay 50% of the cost to replace it.

Has anyone out there had any problems with their 2003 TL? Honestly, I think like suing Acura...if its a default then Acura should be doing a recall to fix it, I guess replacing a transmission is more expensive than just the brakes that Toyota is recalling.

I have a 02 CL type S and it will need a new trans here shortly first one lasted to 71K second one lasted to 91K

 

This is just my 2cent..but their iz a recall on those tranny'S and i thought the warrenty was extended to 110,000...They put sum sort of clutch pack to cool off the tranny..but not sure this will help but when my TL goes over 110,000 imma put that comptech tranny cooler
