i have a 96 cx civic with an SiR cluster. and for a wile now the cluster hasnt dimmed... it lights up but thats it. i know my dimmer works because when move it around my hazards and rear defrost buttons dim and brighten properly. any suggestions as to were to start looking?

 

JDM cars don't have a dimmer switch so the clusters don't dim. I have an EG6 cluster that doesn't dim either.

Sure .. swap the PCB with a USDM one, provided everything else lines up (other bulbs, all the meters, etc.). I did something similar to a 5th Gen cluster ... see link here. Scroll down about half way to "Installation Instructions".
