Default Auto to Auto tranny swap

Yep just a stock d15 tranny im putting on another one this weekend and i cant find just a reg write up on auto to auto theres tons of auto to manual. Ive heard there not to hard to do but its my first time so i dnot wanna mess up. and i dont wanna be charged 250 bucks for someone else. Im doing it with someone who has done a swap on a rear end tranny but never front.

If anyone could give me some advice or a link would be awesome. Thanks and also if you know an easy way to tell if the tranny im gettin is bad without putting in would be great cuz im gettin it from a junk yard.
Thanks.

Default Re: Auto to Auto tranny swap

I am also looking for some information/tips on how to swap an auto tranny.

I have a 91 dx sedan with a badly slipping tranny, and I managed to pick up a nice new one at the junkyard.

I have swapped many, many M/T's over the years but never an auto.

Can anyone help?

I strongly suggest you invest ~$60 and get the service manual from Honda or Helm's.
It has all the answers you need.
Don't bother with the garbage Haynes/Chilton books.
