Need help... Car wont start or even crank after swap.???? Please..!
Ok.. i have a 90 Honda Civic hatchback. Canadian DX. Ive just done a Auto to Manual trans swap. Ive also done the DPFI to MPFI swap with the help of a friend who did the wiring. I have installed PM6 Si ECU. Im also using OBDI fuel injectors without a resistor box and a whats seems to be a JDM intake Manifold for SOHC. I rewired the automatic shifter cables in the center console so that the car releases the key as well as the thick black wires so the car doesnt think its in drive.
Now my problem. The car key turns and the dash lights turn on as normal and the shifter reads P (park). But when i go to turn the key to start the car, it does nothing. Its doesnt even try to start. Also when i turn the key the ECU clicks. I have no check engine light on and the ECU does not blink for any codes. My battery is fully charged. Ive checked all grounds twice already. The battery ground from the battery to the chasis to the tranny is hooked up and tightened, the thermostat housing ground is hooked up and tightened, the starter is hooked up right, chasis to valve cover is also good.
Can anybody give me any ideas to what might be my problem....??? My friend suggests the ECU but i bought it from a legit HONDA ACURA junk yard in my area. I also have not hooked up the reverse lights or O2 sensor because im sure i dont need those to start the car. But i have no check engine for no O2 sensor. So ECU sounds questionable. Please anybody help.....?????

are you sure you did the wiring at the shifter right?
one thing i can guarantee is it's definitely not the ecu. you could remove it, set it in the back seat, and the car would still crank.

i've not done the swap myself so i can't say if that's accurate or not. i do know that you have to bypass the switch/interlock that makes it think it's in park so that it will both crank and give let your key out of the ignition when you shut the car off.
ninja edit: this seems more coherent lol

"-Connect the 2 larger black wires that go to the shift position switch in the automatic. These wires are for the starter. In the auto car, they are only connected when the car is in nuetral or park. Solder these two wires together and heat shrink. Use a butt connector if you want to just ghetto rig it together.
-You will need to ground the Green/White wire from the shift indicator switch, this indicates that the car is in "park", and will allow you to remove the ignition key. The alternative is to swap to the 5 speed ignition switch, but you may not want to end up having separate ignition, and door keys if your car currently uses one key."

just the slider panel on the shifter that is there to tell the car what gear it is in take it apart slide the the plastic inside to the netural postion the car should crank and the key should come out. track the contacts on the silder to the pin locations and splice the wire together and you are ready to go.
from my understanding is that i did it right cause now i can remove my key from the ignition after putting it in.. and when i first finished the swap i tried starting it and the shifter was in drive.. now the shifter shows Park.
I used this one cause it had pictures. So im pretty sure i did it right....
