Default All motor JDM B18c type r.. Help!!

Hi all, I'm swapping a 97 jdm itr B18c engine in my civic hatch.. Was wondering if I'm going to built my engine but I'm going to keep the bottom end stock.. Is it all right to run stock itr valves with skunk2 dual valve springs, skunk2 titanium retainers & skunk2 pro 3 cams? Or it it just too much? A stock itr bottom end with 11:1 compression is just now enought? Any info/suggestion will be great.. Thanks..

The stock valves will be fine. Pro 3s are pretty big for that setup. I would go with Pro1 or Pro2 cams.

Best of luck with your project.

x2, you need MORE compression if you have big cams like that.

When I bought my b18c5 I was told the rotating assembly is completly safe to 9500rpm with the skunk2 valve springs. However I was told the Skunk2 stage 2 cams required at least 11.6 cr, and the stage 3 requires much more compression than that.

There is a big difference between stage 2 and pro 2 series cams from skunk. 11.6 is ideal but can and will work with less compression on a 1.8L although pro 3's are probably to large.
