need help EF 90 SI swaping with a d16y8, what do i need, how to do it?
i have an Ef 90 SI i was thinking putting a d16y8 but i want to keep it obd0, can I use the intake manifold from d16y8 or i need to use my d16a6, what kind of modification do i need to do?
The manifolds are interchangeable. You can swap the Y8 in as a 1 to 1 swap and run it off your existing ECU to keep it OBD0 but the problem there is that the PM6 is not set for VTEC. You can do the ghetto method and wire up a manual VTEC switch but again, the PM6 will not adjust fuel accordingly for VTEC.
Is there any reason why you want to keep it OBD0?

Yeah you can do it that way but again the fuel maps won't be absolutely correct. If you can wire up a VTEC controller, I'm sure you can handle an OBD2 conversion. I mean, at the end of the day it's all just wires...
The easiest thing for you to do is put the motor in. get a p28 ecu, A obd0 to 0bd1 jumper harness. run your vtec wires out to the solenoid and oil pressure switch(Note. its very easy to do. the obd0 to obd1 jumper harness already has colored wires for you to run to these locations. just look up what wire goes to vtec etc etc. next. wire up your dizzy. or switch plugs because the plugs on your obd0 engine harness is going to be different. but other than that. thats your best way to do this. unless you are planning on getting the car tuned then there is other methods of looking at it.
