Difficulty starting car after pumping gas
Hi i would just like to know possible causes of why my car would have difficulty starting at the gas station right after pumping a full tank of 91. I have a new fuel filter. Car is a 99 civic Si. The car would start but not idle like kind of a lack of gas. Fuel pump and injectors are the same old. It happens sparing
You should also make sure it only happens when you fill up and not when you stop for a few minutes after driving awhile. If you are certain it only happens when you get gas, you can also try blocking off the EVAP vacuum port temporarily and see if that fixes the problem. You can just squeeze the line shut with a small needle-nose vice grip after you fill up and try to start the car.
so it couldnt be like an old fuel pump or old dirty fuel injectors? because it didnt do that before, i blew my motor and my car sat for like 2 months or more.
The only system that can be affected by putting gas in a non-empty tank is the EVAP system. If that isn't the problem then getting gas is not what's causing it.
