whats the easiest and cheapest?
theres a $50 paint thread. just search for it, i'd say thats the cheapest way. i havent really read thru it.. but i think u basically buy house paint and throw it on the car. and let dry. BAM! ice cream paint job
rustoleum paint will not last thru the sun or rain though.. take your car somewhere to get painted IMO. just find a cheap place, but make sure it has a warranty. u can get a decent paint job for like $400.
In my eyes, the easiest and cheapest way to sand and paint a car is to sand over the stock paintjob, as long as it's in relatively good condition, you can wetsand with 400, and seal it up, then just lay on the base and clear. Not the best way to do a full paint job, but it works, and will last. It depends on how involved you want to get.
The 50 dollar paint job is bullox, don't believe anything anyone tells you about it.
is the 50 dollar paint job cheap? Yes. Will it last? No. Is it more hassle when it's worth?Yes. Only do a 50 dollar paint job if your car is destined for the junkyard after you're done owning it. OR if you are willing to sand it back down to bare metal and re-finish the whole car.
To be completely honest, there isn't really a way to paint a car easy and cheap, it's either really hard and cheap or really expensive and easy. I think you should split the difference. Prep the car yourself and then take it in to get a paint job. That's you're best bet.
