I was in the same boat as you in September.
All OEM products from that ebay dealer is cheaper than from TAS. TAS prices to me are still a little high to me. The tensioners @ TAS are 64.00+ and that ebay retailer is 47.00.
Price everthing from TAS and the ebay retailer and let us know. I'm sure TAS is higher, it was back in September.
Here is the retailer I used on ebay: http://myworld.ebay.com/dchautoparts/
I would go ahead and replace those tensioners. You are close to 200,000 so it's about time. It's one of those, "while im in there" type of things.

How was your experience??
I did mine about 1.5 yrs ago and used the Continental (ContiTech) timing belt kit (includes both belts and tensioners) without any problems. The belts and tensioners appeared to be good quality in terms of construction (no obvious differences from the OEM parts I replaced). I didn't get it from the 'thepartsbin', but this is essentially what I got for my '96 Accord LX (although I think I paid more than what is listed here):

Best place would be from us, Import Replacement Parts (www.importrp.com)

I received everything in OEM packages and everything was new. DCH is a real Honda dealer in California, just moving parts on ebay also. No complaints.

Mike I have sent you a PM please respond to that.
I Have 225K on my 95 accord ex and this is my first Timing belt change, when I bought the car 3yrs ago it had 128K and the belt hadn't been changed. I didn't want to risk blowing up the engine by snapping the timing belt, so finally my car is in the shop as we speak, I'm a bit paranoid because it's such a big job and I have no trust in 90% of mechanics but it has to be done. I paid for all my parts, Timing belt kit, tensioners, water pump, power belt, alt/comp belt etc. all parts were $200 and the job $300 so $500 total, but as I said my Honda was running perfect and I pray its running better when the one day job is done

The way I understand it, is that most parts are usually made in the same factory, just some have a honda stamp on them, and some have the companies stamp on them. Honda buys their parts from other companies too, so (most) aftermarket parts are usually just as good quality.
It's aftermarket, although I don't remember the brand. When I got it, it came with the two belts, water pump, and tensioners. They looked like they were pretty good quality.

Also I am in real confusion which one to buy after market or OEM because I am seeing about 30% difference in price of OEM and aftermarket.
If any one could please jump into this thread and guide that is there any real need to replace the tensioners also because Honda dealership guy told me that they are good till the life of the car.
Any suggestions???
Its a kind of really hard because when I bought the car I could'nt ask any history because of some special reasons anyways I will look at it first by pulling the upper timing belt cover since I also do not want it to snap while driving on highway.

My personal thing is I want to do it right the first time and not have to worry about what if the tensioners go out. As long as I got OEM, I know from previous honda timing belt changes I won't have any issues. It's up to you and your pocket. OEM for the win!
You definitely want to replace everything while you are doing it. Tensioners, water pump, etc.
Buying OEM will work great, but I would still say save your money and get the aftermarket. Honda gets their timing belts probably from the same factory that you get the aftermarket belts from, so the quality should be the same. If you take your car to a shop and get the timing belt done, they are going to get aftermarket belts, and most shops will give you a 1 or 2 year warranty on something like that. If the aftermarket belts weren't as good as OEM they wouldn't be giving warranties on them.

One or two years is nothing. Typical driver (<15,000 miles per year) would need a warranty of 6+ years to cover the 90,000 miles it is supposed to last.
Hey man I'd do what the guy is saying and get the OEM Timing Belt kit. I just ordered mine yesterday from dch honda on ebay for $175. Doesnt include the tensioner though and Im waiting for them to get back to me on the price for that. Im new to Hondas just got a 91 accord but not new to cars. I priced everything out in the OEM kit I got and pepboys would have cost more for what I got and it would have only been timing belt, w.p., and tensioner- no balance shaft belt or seals. Heres copy and pasted everything that comes int he kit-
PARTS LIST
TIMING BELT (oem # 14400-PT0-004)
BALANCE SHAFT BELT (oem # 13405-PT0-004)
WATER PUMP (oem #19200-P0A-003)
ALT/A/C COMPRESSOR BELT (oem # 38920-PT0-004)
P/S PUMP BELT (56992-PT0-J02)
CAMSHAFT OIL SEAL (oem # 91213-PT0-003)
CRANK OIL SEAL (oem # 91212-P0A-004)
BALANCE SHAFT SEAL (oem # 91233-PT0-003)
OIL DRIVE GEAR SEAL (oem# 15114-PT0-003)
Not bad esp. since it comes w/ steering pumo belt and alt/AC belt also, nice little bonus that would cost you more anywhere else.

best place on line for oem parts is www.hondapartsdeals.com it is a dealer that discounts parts.
tasauto.com is a great place as well! they carry a lot of things that other places dont.
stick to gates (the make most of hondas belts) or OEM!!!! dont go cheap on a timing belt.

When replacing the belt in the '95 F22B1 I just went to FukenKragen(ORLY).
The brand was Gates, both timing and balance belts, plus both tensioners which are GMB. Cost out the door was ~130 US.
Verify the counter monkeys give you the right kit. I was initially given a kit for the non-VTEC, which surprisingly cost more(~$140 US) than the VTEC assembly. Both were in stock.
Sometimes the online pricing is not that competitive. Add S&H and time lost waiting for the parts, plus hassle if part is wrong/damaged can become prohibitive.
FWIW Just priced out a kit on Hondapartsdeals.com and they want $186.30(US) before S&H.
