the axle just needs a good push with 2x4 and a sledge hammer put the wood on the axle close to the trans. and wack away till it sets it self but make shure the teeth are in right. I had the same problem with the same axle..
the crank pully bolt is the hardest bolt to get off what i did is got some white lithium grease and soaked it over night and then got a couple of 1/2in extensions with an empact socket and a huge bar or tubing for leverage and placed a chunk of wood under the rachet.. it will come off with force. (alot of force)
good luck!

pull the snap ring first and make sure the axle fits all the way into the tranny. once you see that it does that, put the snap ring back on and get a friend to help. in one movement, both push the axle into the tranny. that is what worked for me.
although i have used a dead blow hammer on an axle before. remember to compress both joints before you do this!

When I put mine in, I leaned over and my support hand slipped from underneath me and I pushed it into the tranny by accident....?? It just clicked right in.

thanks to 88 civic i ripped the boot with that 2x4. i suggest not using 2x4's against the boot. ends up i had a spare boot off the old ones and i went to honda and got them ti change the spline and boot. only 50$!
lol
but after the spline change it went in fine.
thanks.

Well for the crank pulley bolt drive around to several shops and get them to use ther tourque gun on it and once you find a shop with a big gun itll come off then tell them to put on lightly.
soak over night with what ever yo want liquid wrench pr somthing.
Most shops wont have a big gun so dont expect it to come off right away. thell all do for free too.
