Default 97 Accord EX Wagon Coolant Problem

Hello,

My best friend drives one of these. I work on Volvo's and other European cars, and don't know a ton about these things. Today he called me and said his car was smoking and running hot.

I popped over and determined his coolant is leaking (there's coolant EVERYWHERE.)

The leak is spurting up from somewhere under the intake, somewhere towards the middle of the car.

I can't seem to find the leak itself, even with the car on or reved, both over or under the car (its on ramps right now)

Are there any common problems that I should know about, or any specific things to check out? None of the hoses seem to be compromised.

TIA, Derrick

check the hoses that are on the IACV at the back of the intake. it could be spraying down. i think you would have to look from the top. the drivers side is usually the easiest to see it. that or maybe the heater hoses?

Please check the bypass hoses because if you are seeing Coolant on the Top of valve cover, manifold then surely one of your bypass hose is leaking and if you are seeing coolant on the ground(under the car) then either heater core or lower radiator hose is broken.

Hope it will help, please post what you find
