don't get mad at me or anything, but shouldn't this not be in the Classified section? And all that info is for last year's meet. Pretty sure they are having one again this year but it's a little early to be talkin about it now.

Hello, Jude here, from King Motorsports.
We've got Saturday, June 12th penciled in for the 2011 BBQ/Dyno Day. Are there any big conflicts that anyone is aware of? If not, I'm going to start planning and make that date firm.
Thanks.
Jude
i think he meant 2010, but you get it

It was yesterday. It was my first but it seemed like a great turnout and a lot of incredible cars showed up. Such a great vibe and awesome dyno pulls. I'll be attending more meets like this one for sure...perhaps with my car washed this time. Thanks, King!
I'm suprised no one made a thread for the king bbq this year and no one has made a picture thread yet. It was a great event and well put together this year. they still need to figure out a better food situation for next year.
They had goodie bags for the guests, raffle prizes, and awards for categories like "dyno king", "spirit of jdm", "people's choice" and "farthest distance travelled".
2 reps from Mugen flew in from Tokyo also to meet enthusiasts and show off the new brake kit and exhaust for the 8th gen civic.
I got to ask Mugen all sorts of questions...
like, "how is the shift to hybrids affecting mugen?" (answer: it's a challenge. Our Insight and CR-Z parts are aerodynamic, but yeah the performance parts don't help fuel economy.")Got to ask about that $30k blue 8th gen Mugen Si that was sold in the US last year. He said it was a little bit of a disappointment; American Honda is so concerned about product liability that they really limit what Mugen could alter in that Civic. So that's why the mods were on the pedestrian side, no serious engine tuning, etc. He was really gracious with his time, even tho he was so jetlagged. He flew 13 hours to Wisconsin from Tokyo, only to fly back less than 48 hours later. Whew.
The food was catered this year... BBQ. Last year they tried to cook everything themselves, which for 200-ish guests is a logistics nightmare. I think the food was handled great and tasted great this year.
The event was family friendly, too. Folks with kids, etc. And you don't need a super car to come.
Something cool I found out is King doesn't hold the event to make money. In fact the take a bit of a loss every year. They do it for the enthusiasts.

You can see photos from this year's event on the King website: www.kingmotorsports.com (click any Dyno Day image)
Hope to see ya there next year!
