95 accord doorlock actuator problem
Hello this is my first post and hoping someone can help w this issue. Bought a 95 accord recently and the locks make that dreadful buzzing many of u have come to know. I've researched a lot and I know it has somethn to do w the rubber stops in the actuator. I removed driver side panel and rear droverside panel I took the accuator apart and located the rubber stops. The problem is they look good and fully intact. I've noticed most people say there rubbr stop is torn or off completely. It only stops a little plastic piece so I'm curious as to how they can become so beat up. I hit the door lock and the little gears spin and emit that buzz. I don't see how gluing the rubbr stops will stop this sound. The teeth on the gears are fine too. Can anyone with some good accuator knowledge help me? Also it's a 4 dr. Back left doesn't lock or unlock or buzz for that matter. The driver door works in both directions but buzzes. The passenger side seems ok. Thank u! And I hope to get some more good advice as I bring my 95 accord back to life!!
There is a DIY thread in the Accord FAQ with detailed pictures for the 5th gen.
Alternatively I just bought new OEM actuators for like $50 a pop at the dealer. The glue seems like a "quick" fix to me. I'd rather put brand new ones than try to repair 15 year old ones.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still interested in fixing the existing accuators. Just don't quite understand the role the rubber stops play and I don't see what gluing them in place would accomplish. Didn't find much in the FAQ. Any more help would be mucho appreciated thanks!!!!!
Weird! I don't know why it wasn't added or was removed

There's 2 links in there or so with pictures, I am still looking for the other one. It's similar to those but you use glue to fix a small plastic spring retainer that's ripped up.

thanks muffin man!! that helped a lot. i think ive found the problem... i dont think its the rubber stoppers anymore. im pretty sure its that little spring that goes underneath the gear wheels in the actuator.. im still not sure of something though, the spring looks like its isnt compressed anymore its pushing against the inner wall of the actuator, but its pushing a little tiny plastic square against the inner wall which looks like it might have kept it in place but looks like it may have gave out or snapped? my question is- is that spring supposed to be exposed, or do i try and cram it back in its housing and somehow keep it in place with that little plastic square over it?? thanks again for your help....
omg i need to pay attention to what i read.! i see u actually went into extreme and very helpful detail about that little spring and how to fix it with a screw drilled through the acuator and pressing against that little cap cover. only prob is i dont have a drill and theres also wires laying right where i would drill through. thought about gluing it but i would need the tiniest clamp ever made! i checked driver door and the spring was popping out, had the rear driver side panel off too so i checked the actuator and the same problem! that damn lil spring causing me so much grief! disconnected the power to the door locks so now theyre manual but id like to get it fixed if possible. any more advice is always gratefully appreciated...
Yeah that spring needs to be covered.
I didn't want to fix mine with glueing or the screw fix and just bought a new one. You could try gluing a piece of plastic over top to see if that helps.
