EG Rear LCA Strut bolt head broke
As title says, the classic breaking rear lca bolt happened to me not too long ago. I just had a question on how to break the welds on the welded on nut (the one that's welded to the strut). How you you break that exactly? Is it just tack welded on?
Thanks.
Thanks.
It would be nice if I could just use new stuff without figuring out how to remove them, but i'm stuck with seized bolts on the control arms if that makes sense. I have an ASR rear sway bar already that I had on an older car, but I planned on purchasing new control arms and a subframe brace seeing as how all the bolts seem to be seized anyways.
What would be the best way to remove the control arms then?
When my bolts snapped I ended up chucking the LCA's and struts all together and going with Function7's. But yes those nuts are just tacked on you can breaker bar them right off.
yeah sorry i was assuming that you had new lcas. like stock dx i always use new lcas. rather spend a few extra bucks to not have to deal with that headache.
take the entire lca off and then cut off the strut with a sawz-all. cutting between the strut and the bushing is your best bet. once the strut is cut off, get the bushing pressed out and replace with a new one. or repalce the lca's if you want the easier but more expensive option
