mfactory FD and lsd problem

mfactory FD and lsd problem
I have a b16 lsd trans 4.4 final and viscous 14 bolt lsd.
I bought a 4.923 from mfactory, but after not doing my research found out it will not work for my lsd. i was told to get a type r lsd which is a 10 bolt and to vshave down the fins inside my case and it will work.
I found a type r lsd used through afterhours performance from a guy named bryan but he wouldnt sell me the diff unless I canclled my order with mfactory and order the final through him. I did not want to cancle my order through mfactory so he upped the price on the diff. he wanted 462.00 for a used diff. I did not buy the diff so now im kinda at a stand still.
my case has already been shaved, the 4.9 final will be here monday and I cant use it.
my question is do I have to run a stock type r lsd or can I buy like an obx helical lsd?

Be glad you didn't buy it as you were misinformed. The 4.923 FD will only fit a B16A/LS diff, not a B18C diff. You need a diff for a B16 or LS. I would not get an OBX, look in the sticky to find the write up I did of the various LSD's and you will see why.

ok ill check that out right now, bryan at afterhours told the general sales manager at mfactory to give me a final for a oem 10 bolt type r thinking I was going to purchase his diff.
im not sure which one mfactory sent out I will know forsure monday when it arrives.

yep recieved it today, its ****ing beautiful. too bad my girl friend doesnt share the same enthusiasm. but now I need to find a diff.
I really wish I could get the mfactory helical lsd but thats 650 bux.
I need to get a clutch and a tune before I can finish gathering all the parts for my trans.
so anyone have a cheap type r diff their lookin to get rid of? thanks again steve for an awesome product
