01 Accord 4 cyl stalling when warm
My 01 Accord just started to stall when idling.
if I sit in park for a while and barely touch the gas pedal I can get it to idle ok. If I rev the engine it will immediately stall when the pedal is released.
When it does idle it is smooth, no vibration, no misfires.
There is plenty of power, acceleration is smooth.
No engine codes.

try this and get back to me.. have someone start the car for you after its warmed up. there is a vacuum line that goes to top the egr valve the other end go's to a small runner that runs along side the fuel rail. anyways find the small vaccum tube that attaches to the egr. have the person start the car and while you are under the hood and after you have them rev the motor pull the vacuum tube off the egr valve upon engine deceleration and see if it idles. of course you can just move the throttle body yourself but given the problem its convenient to have someone in the driver seat to start the car. anyways this shouldnt take but 2 -3 mins to do let me know what happens.
I pulled off the hose as it decelerated and it idled just fine.
As a test I put my finger over the small tube the hose goes on and it stalled.
I put it back on and reved the engine and it stalled.
I removed the hose and reved the engine and it idled fine.

Sounds like you have an idle air control valve (IAC) valve(honda likes to call them spool valves) that has become very dirty and possibly needs replaced. Try one thing before replacing ----find a can of throttle body cleaner and remove the air breather tube from the throttle body assy. Look inside the throttle body (throttle plate closed)and find the IAC air inlet--if you put your finger on it while the engine is running it will cause engine to die!!! When you find that that start engine back up and feather the throttle plate from closed to slightly open and spray throttle cleaner into this hole(if you dont open the throttle enough it will cause the engine to die and then just restart it and start over. Do this for several minutes and then check and see how it reacts when you rev it up. If it continues try to clean it once more and if no luck you will need to replace it! GOOD LUCK!!
