Default OT: Convince me........

....... saturday i will be driving to maryland to trade the gsr for an itr. 2000, 35k miles....asking $24k

I settled for a gsr 6 months ago, and have not been pleased with it since. Shoulda waited a few more weeks, but i needed a car.

Convince me that i should do it. A part of me says yes, go for it, its what you want. And another part of me says no, $24k for a used car with 35k miles.... just wait.

Im sick of waiting. Ive tried selling the gsr for 2 months now, and no luck. This is the closest dealership that has an R. I plan on going saturday and trading.

I will be daily driving this car until i can save up a little bit of cash for a beater.

Help me decide what to do.....

If you do it, your H-T title will read:

"Ask me how much I paid for an ITR with 35k miles on it"

Don't do it man.

Patience. $20k is closer what it is worth. Lots of 2000/2001 Rs around with 15-20k miles.

id be more than happy to wait for one.... if i had something else to drive instead of the gsr. Im racking up miles on it, and i know that any dealership i go to, ill be walking out of there holding my ****, so im trying to keep the miles down as much as possible.

"Chris93Si" almost has me talked into trading for a scooby locally. Tempting in a way, but i dont care for the 2 extra doors. Also concerned about reliability when it gets up there in the miles....

That's just too much money for 35K. maybe 19 or 20. don't do it! There's better deals out there.

Lot of dreamers out there. Still people expecting to get $35k for their 2000 S2000s.

Wait until winter and prices will drop into the $19k range.

i got my 2000 PY ITR with 23k miles for $27,500CAD (about $17,000 USD) so u might want to rethink about it..... And the only reason I got an ITR is because of the high resale value since I'm selling it in about a year after i'm comfortable with driving manual cars then I'll be getting something better. To be honest with u i've driven my friend's GSR and it feels the same as my ITR (but thats probably because i'm a noob) up untill 3rd-4th gear (and thats only if u accelerate hard otherwise to me it feels the same). Since its going to be ur daily drive i suggest u keep the GSR and save up the money for something better like an M3 Dont get me wrong i'm not putting down ITRs (I mine) but c'mon we all know its not THAT great...

so what...i'm turning 19 too if u cant afford an M3 at least get something different if u gonna waste that kind of money...WRX maybe? bascally ITR and GSR feels the same for daily drives (for me anyways).

Edit: well i think if ur not happy with ur GSR ur probably not going to be happy an ITR anyways. What did u not like about ur GSR?

i wanted an ITR to begin with. The black leather is rediulous. It can be 50 degrees outside, and that leather will still be insanely hot

umm for daily drives ur not going to push it hard anyways whats the point of getting an ITR when u already own a GSR? espically if ur gonna get a rip off deal on the ITR. Can u feel the difference between the two cars if ur just going to be crusing at 60km/h max?

change the seats lol dont tell me u want an ITR for the seats....there are way better seats than stock ITR seats (they are not even recaros). The only other reason i think u want an ITR is for the coolness factor. It much more rare but its still no chick magnet. Save ur money for something else that is different (well in the end its ur choice but that just my opinion)

bahaha for the "coolnees" factor You hit the nail right on the head. Im willing to spend $23k on a car "just to be cool"

Off the subject.... Where is RealTypeR and the rest of we-todd-did when you need them. Im sure theyd convince me to go for it, especially after having a few I can hear them now...."35k miles is nothing, mine has 70k+" Thats what ive been wanting to hear this whole time

Its just money.... the way i see it, the majority of us will be in debt all of our lives, why not get what you want? ........... what is wrong with me?
