Default 1997 Accord Power Window Problem

Ok here is the situation:

Recently, my power windows decided to stop rolling up/down. I would hit the switch to roll the windows up/down, but then the window motor would make this horrible crunching sound.

I removed the door panel and saw that the cables were all off the window track and such. Pretty much the regulator had cut through the plastic guides and were sitting at the bottom of the door panel... just great

Doing some research I found this article:
http://autorepair.about.com/library/a/1i/bl070i.htm

It seems the only thing you need to do is replace the regulator? Is that it? Everything else seems to get power and looks fine.

I can also put together a little tutorial for this if you all would like to see what's going on

Ok so I have the part now stock(broken) regulator is on the right and the replacement one is on the left.

Same deal, stock part on the right, replacement part on the left.

The slots near the bottom don't seem to line up with the stock ones and the silver part sticking out of the black winch thinggy appears to be backwards. I also couldn't find a way to get all 3 bolts on the motor to line up in the door. Only 2 and that was tricky.

Do not tell me I have to straighten it or something, the curve in the metal goes with the window... I'm sure you could straighten it out, but I'm not going to.

Did I get a passenger side regulator or is there a different part for the SE coupe?

Its probably different for a coupe since I think their window is larger

You are correct. Just found out I ordered the wrong part (that one is for the sedan, not the the coupe, and apparently they have a wagon version too).

I will have to return this one and make sure I get the correct one :-)
