Default PY ITR #00-1481. Day 1 to JRSC to BOOST

Page 1 Build from 2005-210
Page 3 Pics of new parts and parts on car added

1000th post yay.

I got my ITR back in 2005. The car had 19,000 miles on it. Had to go get it from Oregon.

Got the car back to OKC and drove it around for about a year and half or so then decided that I wanted to go JRSC (2007). The car made 210whp.

JRSC with 5psi pulley
Thermal 3" exhaust
RC 440cc injectors
Hondata s300

Then after awhile decided to make some cosmetic changes.
Purchased the full OEM cf lip kit from seibon.

After awhile wanted more power so went with 9psi pulley and bpi velocity stack intake. The car made ~240whp.
Drove the car around for a few months then wanted more power so added methanol injection and Injector dynamics 1000cc injectors. The car made 260whp.
Finally got some PIC coilovers before I went back to T1 to get the car tuned.

After having the car with the JRSC, decided that I wanted to go with a different setup. In July of 2009 brought the car back to T1 to get boosted. The car made 350whp/230tq @ 11psi

Stock ITR motor (block and head)
Full race manifold
Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors
Thermal 3" exhaust
Garret t3/t4 57 trim turbo
Tial 50 blow off valve
Tial 44 wastegate
Custom dump tube
Hondata s300

Got the car back and first thing I did was spray the intercooler black. I always wanted a sleeper car so I did.

pic of finished product and my dd accord yay!

Took off the front lip and put back on the stock yellow lip.

Drove the car around for about 3 months wanted more power so brought the car back and tuned for e85. The car made 450whp/340tq @ 17psi.
Finally got the funds to paint the sides and the rear yellow and this is how the car sits now. Still stock block and head.

[/QUOTE]

As of now I am done with the performance of the car.

The car finally made 450whp/340tq @ 17psi high boost and 350whp/240tq @ 11psi. Stock block and head

I still have some cosmetic stuff to do. I have numerous parts in my room. I will post those up when I get them on. Just minor stuff
Nardi steering wheel with quick release
JDM shift boot
Avid torque mounts
Neptune Tunerview II

Need to get:
Hasport motor mounts (should i get race or street ones? I dont want too much rattling)
ARP head studs
Upgraded brakes and rotors

Hope you all enjoyed!

on 91 pump gas i put down 350whp. when i changed over to e85 thats when i got the 450whp.

as for reliability, i have had no problems. just make sure you have a good tune. on 91 fuel you will NOT get to 400+ whp though. you will need something such as race fuel or e85 to advance the timing.

e85 is easy to find where i live so i run it daily in my car. no more 91 gas for me. $1.74 ftw

I don't think I'd complain with 350whp. I was planning on doing an OEM rebuild on my stock ITR motor, and buying another motor on the side to build for boost. I think I'd be happy with around 320-350WHP on a stock ITR motor. I just don't want to crack any sleeves or destroy the motor internally.

I think you can safely get 350whp on an ITR motor on 91 octane gas. I did. I dont think you will run into any problems.

How much should I expect to spend on a turbo setup? I know a local, reputable tuner, but I always factored in tires while figuing out how much it'll cost me, and other expenses along the way.

I would take it back to the basics cause you can run the bill up quickly. Drag or inline pro many with a good turbo. And most importantly a good tuner. Nothing is cheap your gonna spend 1500 to 2gs easy.

Thats better then the 4-5g's I was expecting. I wonder if I can find a whole kit for $1500-2g's. I don't need a huge turbo because I am only shooting for 350whp.

Great numbers. I had a boosted EK Civic that made 333whp and that was pretty damn quick. I would definitely think that a 350hp/240tq ITR would be pretty damn fun to drive!!

To answer this question, you can easily spend upwards of 4-5 grand on a really nice kit (Peakboost, Full Race, etc with dyno time, injectors, fuel pump, and an engine managment system)

On of the main reason the orginal poster made so much power is mainly because the tune (T1) and the Full Race manifold. A good equal length turbo manifold will net up to 50hp or more from a log manifold (Drag, Greddy, etc) at the same boost level.

I used Spoolin Performance log manifold kit and a T3/T4 .57trim turbo and got 333whp at 1 bar outta a B16 with a stock ITR head/Intake manifold.

Go to www.spoolinperformance.com and piece together a kit. I pieced one together for fun and it was around the 3000 price range with injectors and a fuel pump.

Hope that helps.
