Default Is this a good deal on a Civic Si?

There's a 1989 Civic Si hatchback in my area for sale for $1800. The car is freshly painted red but the car has 193000 miles on it. I want some opinions on whether or not this is a good deal. I will test drive it tomorrow. The engine sounds fine today but I will not know for sure unless I test drive it. Thanks for your opinions.

What are your plans for the car? It seems like a pretty decent deal, see if you talk him down some maybe 1500 or so.

Do you guys think this car will last me for another 2 1/2 years? I will be driving it mostly on highways on my way to college everyday. I would like to put a B18C1 in if i have the money and the usual I/H/E stuff. I definitely would not "rice" it and make it a real sleeper.

Almost 200k, and fresh paint means he had alot of rust fixed. Go through the car with a rubber/plastic magnet. If you find too much bondo, then Id say it was a cheap fix. $1500 is a great price for an Si. Most shitty dx's around here with smoking engines cost that much.

Take a magnet to it to find out how much bondo it has.
