Default ZC tranny, and Si final gear.

Ok, for some reason when I go to search for "zc" for recent, and archived post it comes up with nothing. I know for a fact that something is wrong, I am sure someone has posted something with ZC in the topic. GRR.

I want to buy a ZC tranny with LSD, what is a general price for it, and where can I get one? I just need the tranny, I do not need a motor with it. Also, where can I buy just the Si final drive? Please, I am starting my new project and any help is greatly apreciated.

It's because the search engine doesn't index words two letters and shorter.

There are some really good walkthroughs out there on how to do it, I've been looking at some lately but don't have any links. I know when you order a ZC from hondamotorsonline it costs 200 extra for a ZC trans, I'd guess that he'd have extra trans he'd be willing to sell because people like me just buy the engine. Shipping may be just as much as it costs to ship an engine though.

Sweet, I checked out their site and they do have ZC trannys for sale seperatly in thier used section! It has no LSD though. I have found tranny gearing for sale, but they are all for B series trannys.

you could just buy the si tranny and swap final drives...

just a suggestion: you might want to swap the si tranny's fifth gear as well, since the zc's fifth gear ratio is pretty high for highway driving...all depends on your application though

the zc tranny is not too good for highway?
what kinda rpms are you looking at going about 60 mph and whats the top speed on it?
im thinking of getting a ZC swap, would a dif tranny be better with it?

the ZC gearing with the Si final drive increases the rpms on the highway.

according to my calculations sheet, when doing 60mph you will be at 3250 rpms. 75mph is 4000rpms.

the ZC/Si hybrid tranny is the best one out there for the ZC, IMO.

to Breaka. I have the Zc w/Si final and I just came back from MD. At about 80mph I'm doing 4700-5000rpm (can't remember exactly)and was only able to top it out at 120 @ 7000rpm.
I myself would like to use the Dx 4th and 5th but I'm not too sure of the drop-off. I had the Dx 4-speed and used to do 110mph in third @ rev-limit. I figure with more power(read boost) and the Dx 5-speed .......150 maybe!

I thaught the ZC tranny would leave you around 4600 RPMs on the Highway, so they recommend the Si final drive so the RPMs will not be as high as the ZC's final drive. May be I mistook the information, can anyone confirm this? How much would it cost to get a LSD kit for a ZC? I've never seen LSD kits for sale, besides at jdmhondaparts.

Does anyone manufacture a light weight flywheel for D series trannys?

si final drive = 4.250
zc final drive = 3.888

the higher the final drive #, the higher the rpms at a certain speed.

i have a civic LSD in my zc/si hybrid trans. the only thing about using the civic LSD is you go back to the unequal axle lengths.

Know what, that is why.. I just checked where I read that. They had the gearing ratios mixed up.
