Default 1G RL NAVI QUESTION

Ive been shopping around for a first gen rl but cant find a int/ext color combo i like. The color combos i do like, don't have the oem navi. What i wanna know has anyone installed an oem navi into their rl to oem spec. Also do i have stick to specfic years like 96-98 and 99-04 depending on what year i pick up? thanks. (Ive searched the web without success)

I can't imagine why you would want the OE 1st-gen 3.5RL navigation. It's crap. Not only is it archaic and slow, it's also problematic. In 2000 they upsized the screen and changed the system a bit but it was still crap overall.

Get a non-nav car in the color you like and buy a Garmin.

lol I guess I should have done more research on the actual navi than the install. Is the system really that bad? Thanks for the input.
