B20vEf9's 2010 Cookie Cutter Lsvtec Build Thread
This will be my first build thread.
I had a 1991 Civic with a b20vtec that I sold, and bought a 1989 Civic with an LS then boosted it. Shortly after boosting it I missed my NA setup, so I traded the 89 Civic for my current 1997 Civic that had an Lsvtec in it at the time.
I've been fixing minor issues ever since getting the Ek such as purchasing a set of Innovative billet mounts to replace the poop mounts that were in the car. I just had Derek from IMW do a leakdown test today and the results were, #1: 20%, #2: 15%, #3: 40%, and #4: 5%. So, now it's time for a rebuild.
The car did make a 14.1 @ 98mph pass at the track this being a pr3 piston, stock b16 head lsv with a junk ebay header untuned on a basemap with a slipping clutch.
I've decided to put a simple build together, and shoot for 12's.
I recently purchased a Competition Stage 5 clutch I got from a friend for a killer deal brand new. I then ordered a Competition Lightweight flywheel. I also have an oldschool skunk 2 intake manifold I picked up for $65.
Here's a rundown of the build. Most things are going to start being ordered very soon.
B18b1 Block bored to 81.5mm
Rs Machines 81.5mm Pr3 Pistons
Stock Rods
ARP Rod bolts
ARP Head Studs
B18c5 Head
CC Cylinder Heads Hot Street Port Work
Supertech Valve springs
Supertech Retainers
Skunk 2 Pro 2 Cams
UGR(Skunk2 Tuner) Adjustable Cam Gears
Skunk 2 Pro Series Intake Manifold Port Matched
Precision 650cc Injectors
68mm Professional Products Throttle Body
RMF Narrow Copy Header
Injen Short Ram

Thanks guys.
Because, that's my username. I didn't know that was too hard for you to figure out.
Just ordered an Oem release and pilot bearing. Also ordered a Hondata Gasket.

can't wait to see what numbers you pull on the dyno. i might swap my ls-vtec for a b20 turbo. build looks like a good one, subscribed.
Keep that poopercharger on, and I'll show you my tail lights at the track this coming season. LOL
LOL, you got like a month maybe less till the track opens. Hopefully i have all the little problems fixed engine wise, body wise i stopped caring. Also got to get tuned on the corn fuel.
looks like a good build man. only thing i would change are the rods. if you're doing a over haul on the motor and getting rs machine pistons with arp hardware, mine as well spend money and get rods. it will break or throw a rod before the hardware fails...
I was looking into BP I Beam Rods, but I've saw people have had issues with them. If I find a deal on something I'll probably jump on it.
before new rods, he could even just get oem shot peened rods with ACL Bearings, ARP bolts and be set.
If I use stock rods I don't plan on revving that high.
