Can any other engines bolt up t a d series tranny via an adapter, like an f/h, g, c, or j series?

 

H/F yes.

G and C are completely out of the question since they are mounted longitudinally.

J, nothing exists and i venture to guess it's because it spins the opposite direction than the D-series does. you would have one forward gear and five reverse...
