Hey guys i have a few questions for the honda masters!! I have a b16 that pretty built and it went to the dyno and got tuned and im pretty disapointed in what heppend !! SO the car went to vip performace in portland, car was tuned on chrome and converted on E85 due to the fact that i didnt want any detination on pump gas.. car put down 178hp and 147tq !! ryan at vip seems to think that im over cammed and its killing me in power due to the fact that when v-tech engages at 6k the power drops down and takes all the way to 9300rpm to hit the 178hp mark.. He said that he played with the cam gears and timing for six hours to get the cams somewhat dialed in and the fuel mixture and all that tuning stuff with the computer is perfect so i dont know what else it couldbe.. so i need some opinions because personally i dont think the car is over cammed.. All info will be considerd and i want to solve this problem asap.. list of mods to engine

i might be missing some stuff but i just need some opinions guys, i know 178hp is decent on a b16 build but i no it should hit the 200 mark.. Thanks guys !!!

 

178 isnt horrible

what you have is an over built b16 (KISS)

Throttle body and header are probably a little oversized for your needs and may be hurting you

bc4 cams are not too big for your setup, same vtec lobes as skunk 2 tuner series stage 2

 

i just wanted to build something different and was expecting higher numbers but maybe i was just expectig too much.. Thanks for the quick responce and info
