I have a 91 hatch. With a semi built 99 ls in it. All it has done is a fully built head with crower 404's, crower valve springs and retainers, crower valves, ferrea valve seals and guides. 3 angle valve job, and a Port and polish. My car burns a little bit of oil. I was told if i get a catch can it will solve the problem. Is this true?
wont solve the problem. but wont make that problem worse.
point of the catch can is to reroute the blowby and vent the crankcase. it is normally routed back into the intake manifold but that increases the chance of predetonation and dirties the engine and intake.
take off the hose to the intake from the PCV valve and the hose to the intake arm from the valvecover. plug both holes. route both hoses to a vented can of your choice. done.

sounds simple..im waiting on my catch can to come in for my rex..its supercharged and smoking from the valve cover vent..so i hope that help out some, and i cant figure why my car sounds like a subbie now..i thought it might have been my spark plugs getting flooded with oil and it not sparking on one plug..but its not..i changed all the seals, the spark plug and valve cover seals...and i hadnt started my car in about a month either..but just saying.
