245/50-16s on 1990 EF
Can it be done? I have 16x7s, yes it'll have a decent hangover the edges, with a 40+ offset. Wondering if the tire clears the spindle arm or if a spacer is needed. I can correct for any rubbing with a hammer
or by trimming and re bracing areas where it touches, just not sure about the spindle.
Anyone tried this?
Car has a SiR Tranny putting 405whp/290tq. The 205s obviously dont cut it, even on the highway. if 225 are the limit so be it, but I would like to go wider if possible, just for those track days and mountain passes
Thankyou guys for your help.

You are going to have to flare your fenders to fit 245's. They will not fit in stock wheel wells. What spindle are you talking about? Do you mean the rear trailing arm? IMO you would be better off with a 225-45-15 Hankook RS3. And please dont act foolish on plublic roads. Keep the go fast on the track.
