Default My 90 dx build

Just putting basics on here.....

1990 Civic DX hatchback 193K on body

d16z6 swap w/ Arias pistons, Eagle rods
Golden Eagle Block guard
Dsm 450cc injectors
Obd 0-1 conversion
Chipped p28
14b Mitsubishi turbo
Homemade turbo manifold
Skunk2 intake manifold

Car recently Spun a bearing i think so it should be going under the knife as soon as its somewhat warmer outside.

What i am wondering is if i just put new bearings in would it be ok to drive ?

And also I have been searching for how to figure out what size bearings i will need .I haven't driven it since it started making a noise, And the motor only has 8k on it.

Let me know your thoughts and opinions. Thanks all.

i would say the crank/rods need to be micro-polished at the least.

yea, I would definitely bring the crank to a machine shop and have them measure everything. They'll tell you what size bearings you'll need after machining for whichever journal got messed up. It really all depends on how long you drove it with a spun bearing. If its pretty bad, then more then likely, you will need a new rod. Dont know if they can machine a rod. take it all apart and give us an update.

Lovin the gold valve cover... but before you go spendin all kinds of money on your build, spend a $100 on the right size battery so you can secure it properly. It's no bueno if you batt jumps up and arcs into your hood.

Looking forward to the progress

Agreed, I got the engine in a eg coupe I traded for and all the work was already done so i don't really know.

Tomorrow I am planning to pull the head off and check that over Im thinking of doing a mild port on it

So i pulled the head off today and after checking some things over it seems like the pistons have a lot of play between the cylinder walls. (piston slap maybe)

My question is that is this normal with forged pistons? And also is there a way of me measuring this ?

I will post some pics in the am. Any help is greatly appreciated.

you need to measure the clearance, and if its out of spec then bigger pistons
